Leaving tunnels through your lawn, these little guys feed on grubs and worms. They pop out of little holes along their tunnel paths, which are usually easily seen by the raised area on your lawn. This guy and his mate were grabbing bits of grass and disappearing (building a nest?). They pop up and down rapidly, never staying out for more than a second or two (not unlike the Whack-a-Mole game). Very small, like a mouse.
